#ROCKWELL DELTA MILWAUKEE BAND SAW MOTOR BELT HOW TO#
I have not figured out how to add pictures to this site yet. Fixing up this classic 1948 Delta Milwaukee Band Saw that I scored off Craiglist. I have looked at youtube videos and searched for pictures online and they show what appears to be an assortment of pulleys and I do not understand why as it would seem that the gear box would be used for speed selection and not the pulley and belts. But then I am not sure about the pulley arrangement for this machine. If I cannot straighten it, I will make a new one. The first thing I need to do is take the gear box off and disassemble it so that I can straighten the lower pulley shaft. The knurled knob on the pulley at the gearbox just has to be pulled straight out to engage it, mine is pretty. Send me a PM to remind me mid week or if you have specific questions. There is a gear box with a bent shaft and a range selector lever (at least that is what I think it is). Ive got one of those Delta/Rockwell 14' metal / wood bandsaws. Delta Milwaukee 14' Band Saw Motor 1/3 HP 1725 RPM 115/230 Rockwell Dual Shaft. There is a large pulley on the lower wheel axle and the belt from the motor is running that. Motor has dust, dirt, scrapes, rust, etc.associated with normal use. As it sits now, it runs but only in the wood or high speed mode. I knew it was going to need some work but I was apparently excited about the dual speed range potential. It is a Delta Milwaukee and the base is numbered 329 but I am not sure if that is the base model number or the saw. Against my better judgment, I bought a bandsaw yesterday.
